Minshull leads England to Victory

Congratulations to Jake Minshull who in his first international led England to victory winning the Under 16 Combined events title in the four way competition with Ireland, Scotland and Wales held on 30 November at the Glasgow Emirates arena.

Jake accumulated 3527 points to win by nearly 300 points from teammate Jacob Blanc. Going into the last event the 800 metres, the England team were in the third place but led by Jake’s 2.01.3 and backed up with gutsy performances by teammates Blanc and Conrad Milton overcame a 140 point deficit to win by 266 points from the all Ireland team.

Jake had earlier produced personal bests in the shot putt 11.42 and 200metres 23.6 together with a 6.09 long jump and 8.51 60m hurdles in a competition that moved rapidly with just 30 minutes between events. But a great day to remember for the Godiva Kid!
