Saturday the 9th of November saw the club start back at its cross country leagues for the 24-25 season.
Up first at Persall North common were the ladies, it was a huge field of 280 runners completing the course.
They were led out superbly by Sophie Hurst who took the win. Followed closely by amelia Starling in 2nd. Alicia Roberts showed the form of previous to come in at 11th and on her Debut Zaneta Pochylska was 79th (47th Master)
The A team sit in 3rd with 93 points, a 6 point gap from 4th and 41 points from 2nd .
While we await if there is a B team, it was led by Jodie Greenfield (123), Shona Murray was 161st (6th Junior), Paige Zhang-Green on her Debut was 172nd (116th Master), and Flavie Rasson in 199th
We also had a impressive debut from Izzy Khan in 211th
The men were at Abington Park in Northampton, they were led out by Dan Clarke in 32nd (5th Master), Scott Hudspith was next in 36th , ensuring some great packing was then Joe McLeod in 48th , Adam Jackson was 91st (15th Junior), Teklay Alemu on his Debut was 105th & completing the A team was Oscar Jarman in 119th (23rd Junior).
This had the A team 10th and a solid start to the season.
The B team was led out by Hossien Mohammediha in 135th (28th Master), followed by David Cooper in 148th , James Wright 149th , Peter Eccleston in 151st (34th Master), Sam Marshall in 156th (36th Master and having the Master A team in 5th!) And completing the B team was Matt Hadlum in 170th
Following this and starting the Master B team was Richard Todd in 180th (50th Master), Michael Todd in 188th (55th Master), Clarky Roberts in 199th (61st Master and returning from surgery) and completing the Master B team was Sam Katanda in 200th (62nd Master)
The Masters B team was 2nd
We also had great performances from Jason Brotherhood in 202nd (63rd Master), Anthony Mitrofaniuk 205th (65th Master), William Chalmers 207th (46th Junior), Waising Yip 209th (68th Master), Dale “bloody foot” Ball 219th (75th Master), Kevin Otieno 224th , John “JC” Treadwell in 232nd (86th Master), Eildris Kabango making a senior debut in 240th (47th Master) & Lee Connelly (Debut) in 242nd completing the Godiva appearances this weekend
An excellent start to a long hard season
