Wheelchair Racing Academy

The Academy was founded in 2011 for athletes of all abilities and experience from 8 years up, over distances from 100m to full marathon.

For new athletes chairs are available to get started and explore various seating positions. Indoor training rollers for winter warm-up and technical sessions were introduced in 2014 within a purpose-built storage room.

The Academy includes a number of upcoming talented athletes, British, European and World Record holders, representing Coventry Godiva and Great Britain. Competitions range from open meets, national championships, internationals, London Mini-marathon for juniors, 10km, Half-marathons and Paratriathlons.

Annually the Coventry Godiva Classic attracts wheelchair racers from across the country for IPC sanctioned competition with electronic timing.
